Brace yourselves for more Spanky mush (ick that didn't sound very good):
I read this off Ariel's blog and TOTALLY wanted to rip it off - I mean I was extremely motivated to come up with a list of my own.
Yeah that sounds better right?
Thought so. I ain't that much of an unoriginal git.
No wait, yes I am. But so what *grins*!
**Sayang is a Malay word that means Love and/or Affection. It can also be used as a term of endearment. It's not unusual for people to refer to their other halves (in my case it's my way better half) as simply Sayang, much like how one would use words like Honey, Sweetheart, Babe, Darrrling etc.**
Ariel's list was a "Sayang (love) Is..." one. Me wanna do one too.
Sayang is...
Hitting the bill of my baseball cap when you know I'm being cheeky.
Sayang is...
Just letting me whine when I need to get it off my chest.
Sayang is...
Putting food on my plate for me so that I don't have to do it myself.
Sayang is...
Telling me that they missed me even though they'd only been out of town for a few days.
Sayang is...
Texting me to make sure I get home safely especially if it's late at night.
Sayang is...
Texting me to ask how the hangover is the next morning.
Sayang is...
The effort it took to honestly admit that they misjudged me, and then apologizing sincerely for it.
Sayang is...
Being called by nicknames that make absolutely no sense to anyone outside the crew.
Sayang is...
Thinking about that person fondly even though you haven't spoken to eachother in almost a year.
Sayang is...
Playing a game of "Quick-Who-Sings-This-Song?" that lasts for hours on end.
Sayang is...
Movie Fest Afternoons!
Sayang is...
When you cut out articles from the newspaper that you think I'd enjoy reading.
Sayang is...
Someone flying for two and a half hours to KK to surprise me and cheer me up - just because I was having a bad week.
Sayang is...
An "Wru doin later?" text message or email.
Sayang is...
Finding out that a friend was saying something really nice about me behind my back.
Sayang is...
Changing their plans to spend a few more hours with me.
Sayang is...
Calling from the airport to ask if I need anything from Duty Free.
Sayang is...
Taking note of my likes and dislikes.
Sayang is...
Small, considerate gestures.
Sayang is...
Telling me how proud you are of me, in not so many words.
So yup it was my mom's birthday on Wednesday. We had a fantastic dinner in Ferdinands at The Magellan Sutera Hotel. The food was bloody fantastic. I'd had a couple of pretty decent meals there before but what we had on Wednesday was amazing.
Everything from:
The complimentary salmon bruschetta appetizers (thanks to the Chef who very thoughtfully had them sent to our table. A pleasant surprise)
To the service (impeccable).
To the view from where we were seated (I had a clear view of the sea which seemed to be just below the window. Marvelous at night).
To the flowers from my staff that they had placed in our little corner.
To the extremely rich and chocolatey birthday cake for my mommy.
To the right company, where everyone had a good laugh and a great chat.
Was perfect.
I don't normally gush about a lot of places that I've been to, but I'm gushing about this meal and this restaurant. Everything was perfect.
Took some pix that I promise I'll put up tomorrow.
